How PRM Heat Treatment Work:

1.Heat Chamber – The pallet is placed in a heat chamber.

2. Temperature Requirement – The wood is heated to at least 132.8°F for a minimum of 30 minutes at its core.

3. Stamping & Certification – Once treated, the pallet is stamped with an HT (Heat Treated) mark, often accompanied by the IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) logo.

Benefits of Heat-Treated Pallets:

Complies with International Shipping Laws – Required for exporting goods to many countries.

Prevents Pest Infestation – Eliminates bugs and larvae inside the wood.

Reduces Mold & Fungi Growth – Less moisture means a lower chance of mold formation.

More Durable – Heat treatment strengthens the wood and makes it more resistant to decay.

Safer Than Chemical Treatment – Unlike fumigation with methyl bromide, heat treatment is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
